I allowed myself some small X-mas decorating before Sinterklaas leaves the country again. To slowly get into the holiday spirit.

ADVENT CALENDAR
This is the first time every I made my own advent calendar. With the kids old enough to put an effort in it and them able to appreciate it. With so much inspiration on my X-mas board on Pinterest, I just had and wanted to make one myself.
The thought of my kids waking up every morning and being all excited and happy to open another bag, makes my hart jump.
I used my moodboard canvas as a background, filled paperbags from HEMA with Christmas chocolates, stickers and glitterpens and taped the bags on the canvas with masking tape. Voila!

WHITE CHRISTMAS
I love snow! I cant wait for the first drops to fall. Snow gives me tingles, snow crackles, snow is white, snow is beautiful, snow is just.... magical.
A white Christmas would just be perfect. Unfortunately this is not very common in the Netherlands and we more often have rain (which I dont like!) then snow. But these pictures from stylist Sarah Ellison for Real Living , via My Scandinivian Home would make my Christmas instantly perfect, even if it isn't snowing outside, it is on the inside...

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING
Although Sinterklaas (Dutch version of Santa Claus) has just set foot
on Dutch soil last Saterday, I can't help but think of nothing else
then getting my house in the Christmas spirit... Due to my 2 kids (3 and 4), who belief in Sinterklaas, I cannot start yet but have to wait until the Holy man will leave on his boat to Spain in the night of December 5th. Not a big problem, because I love Sinterklaas as well, but nothing beats a home in full Christmas mode.
One thing I have already decided on is that we will do without the traditional Christmas tree and go for something more modern. I will definitely use my white pompons again for decoration, and go for lots of white. What I cannot decide on is if I will go all the way with mad color and gold trimming (my house is all white so that will provide a beautiful canvas for all the color to really pop out) or if I will keep it more clean and 'Scandinavian' with whites, black, greys and woods....
