DARK

I have an obsession currently for darker colors. For walls and timber that is. But also in my clothes I tend to wear a lot of black and navy blue now. Maybe it is due to the upcoming winter, the darker days, the need to make it homely, I dont really know. But the darker colors have something that is  soothing, effortlessly chic, yet warm and cosy.

Today I advised one of my clients to paint their kitchenwalls in Down Pipe from Farrow & Ball and compliment the kitchen with some beautiful pastel accents in mint green and light pink. Great contrast in my opinion! And they have lots and lots of natural light so it will work out great I think.

Another client, who I helped with a floorplan and colorplan for their 6 year old son's bedroom, I advised to use Chappel Green and Stiffkey Blue (all Farrow & Ball) on the walls. Quit dark and moody but lots of driftwood accents will keep the room fresh, less classic yet cool for a 6 year old. They are currently in the midst of implementing these advises, and I hope to show you the end results soon!
